The UFC returns to Canada this weekend with their first event in British Columbia, UFC 115: Liddell vs. Franklin, at GM Place in Vancouver.

The main event on the UFC 115 card is a battle between two MMA veterans, Chuck Liddell and Rich Franklin. Both are former UFC champions, Liddell at Light Heavyweight and Franklin at Middleweight, but this weekend's bout will be fought at Light Heavyweight.

Both Liddell and Franklin are coming off losses, and another defeat in the octagon could mean an end to their fighting career. Liddell has been especially disappointing in his most recent bouts with only one win in his last five fights. He last fought at UFC 97 back in April 2009 when he lost to Mauricio Rua by TKO early in the first round. Despite his recent losing binge Liddell is still 21-7 with 13 wins by knockout and has the power to end a fight in one punch.

Franklin's last fight was against Vitor Belfort at catchweight at UFC 103 in September. He also lost by TKO early in the opening round. Franklin is a lifetime 26-5 with one no-contest, with 14 wins by knockout and nine by submission, but since making the jump from Middleweight to Light Heavyweight he is 1-1 with a win against Matt Hamill and a loss to Dan Henderson.

Liddell may be more experienced at the Light Heavyweight level, but he's the underdog against Franklin at Bodog. Franklin, who is five years younger than Liddell, is a -150 favorite in the fight. Liddell isn't used to being the underdog, but Bodog has him listed at +120 on this card.

As usual, when the UFC comes to Canada they always try to get at least a few Canadian fighters on the card. This weekend in Vancouver three Canadians will be fighting and trying to make a name for themselves.

Only one Canuck fighter is on the main card at UFC 115, and that is Rory MacDonald. He'll be facing Carlos Condit in a Welterweight bout. MacDonald is a perfect 10-0 in his MMA career, and in his last bout in his UFC debut he defeated Mike Guymon by armbar submission at UFC Fight Night 20 in January.

The other Canadians on the preliminary card include Claude Patrick versus Ricardo Funch at Welterweight, and David Loiseau versus Mario Miranda at Middleweight.
