World Series Odds
After an amazing finish to the regular season the MLB postseason begins Friday . After posting the best record in baseball during the season the Philadelphia Phillies are Bodog choice to win the Fall Classic.
It's pretty tough to argue against Bodog putting the Phillies on top of the World Series futures at 7/4. The Phillies have a rotation of aces led by former Cy Young Award winners Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee and former World Series MVP Cole Hamels. With Halladay and Lee opening the NLDS back-to-back the Phillies may already have two wins in the bag as long as their offense puts a few runs on the board. Offensively the Phillies are no pushover with the big bats of Ryan Howard, Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins leading the way.
Following the Phillies on the Bodog futures are the New York Yankees at 4/1. New York posted the best record in the AL this season and their stout offense led the Majors in home runs while coming second in runs scored. That offense will need to be strong throughout the postseason to make up for New York's lack of dominant starting pitching. After ace CC Sabathia the Yankees pitching declines quickly. Ivan Nova had a good season with 16 wins, but this will be his first look at the postseason. After that veteran Freddy Garcia will need to find his old magic again. If the Yankees pitching can hold up their lineup of juggernauts which includes Mark Teixeira, Curtis Granderson and Alex Rodriguez could carry them through the postseason.
Rounding out the Top 3 on the Bodog futures are the Detroit Tigers at 7/1. The Tigers have the clear AL Cy Young winner in Justin Verlander, but they also have two more capable arms in Doug Fister and Max Scherzer. Detroit has two heavy hitters in Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez and if their pitching holds up it could be more than enough to get them through a few postseason rounds.
Other teams getting good odds from the Bodog oddsmakers include Milwaukee at 15/2, Tampa Bay at 8/1 and Texas 8/1. After their phenomenal finish to the season the Rays and their top notch pitching staff led by James Shields, David Price and Jeff Niemann could be this year's version of last year's champs, the San Francisco Giants.

Detroit 7/1
